David Cook is my life ruiner. ♥
When additional DCook concert dates were announced around mid/late October, I took a look at them and quickly figured out logistics. First, I planned for just Kansas City, MO and Council Bluffs, IA (where the heck is this?! *lol*) dates. Then, the little devil in my head whacked me to look a little bit further. *lol*
I'm a business analyst. A cost management analyst, to be exact. My brain is trained to approach things in the most cost effective way possible. And in my finance world, the most cost effective way happens to include the best RETURN ON INVESTMENT. Since I'm spending money on airfare going to Midwest already, why attending only 2 shows? (HA). The next available tour date at that time was Chicago. Ticket from MCI-SEA on Sunday 11/27 was flipping expensive. Ticket from MCI-MDW was surprisingly cheap. Ticket from MDW-SEA on Wednesday 11/30 was ridiculously cheap. #SouthwestAirlinesILU I have a friend in Chicago who can feed me. Minimal cost. So, Chicago it is. XD
Talked to my boss. His brain worked the same way as mine so he's okay for me to flex and take a few days off at the end of the November. Have I ever mentioned I have the best boss on earth? :)
Talked to Melody and managed to use my "I" skill to drag her to 2 shows. *lol* Also, talked Shannon into going to KC *lolz* (In fact, they wanted to go already, I was just being suggestive! XD)
BTW, I'm SUPER excited for Kansas City. Megan and Adam will also be there. Quality time with friends is my favorite! ♥
Talked to my mom so she could reason things out with dad for me. I love her so much. Dad is actually okay with it even though he doesn't really like it. *lol*
Then. Springfield, MO date was announced early in November. It
almost screwed up my itinerary. *lol* I was SO tempted to go to Springfield, as I'd be practically THERE (+3 hours) already, but in this case, '
the most cost effective way' doesn't mean '
the healthiest way.' I don't think I should drive 3+ hours each way through unfamiliar highway all by myself (call me a wimp, okay?). TBH, I'm still torn, but 4 shows in 5 days are totally overkill, not only my brain will be so confused. I WILL DIE from exhaustion. Luckily I could still process that fact so I decided to skip Springfield for Chicago.
Still, my cost saving brain means insane logistic plan. *lol* Let's see..
11/24 -- arrive MCI -- rent a car -- check in at hotel -- pass out
11/25 -- stay horizontal -- eat -- walk to a concert -- come back to hotel -- pass out
11/26 -- check out -- drive to a casino -- probably eat -- go to a concert -- drive back to KC -- NO SLEEP
11/27 -- return car at MCI -- catch a flight to MDW -- pass out for the next two days
No hotel cost for a night (11/26). Cheaper flight in the morning (11/27). A couple days of downtime to recoup. WIN WIN.
Totally ignore the fact that Melody and I won't get any sleep and shower that night *lol*
The most cost effective way, my butt. I'm going to be so dead on 11/27. I just hope I manage to stay awake until my friend picks me up from Midway. *lol*
My travel plan is crazy I love it. ♥

ps. have you ever taken a
DiSC assessment? I took it twice, 4 years apart, and the results came out relatively the same. I am a strong I. My I score was through the roof to the point that it surprised my boss and coworkers. *lolz* Ask
mellowdee what she thinks about that? ;)
